Rod Wilson and I had the privilege of visiting TheCanadian Cancer Society’s Lodge That Gives, a home away from home that allows patients to stay nearby their treatment centres. We met with Heather Mulligan, the Senior Manager of Advocacy at Canadian Cancer Society, and our gracious host, who gave us a tour of the space. The Lodge That Gives provides comfortable rooms, meals and support programs, provides emotional and peer support, and helps ensure access to cancer treatment by easing financial strain on families. The Canadian Cancer Society also has a Wig Bank at this location, which provides a wide range of donated and new wigs to cancer patients, as well as Breast Prosthesis and Accessories Services.
